Jennie Jung, AMFT

Jennie Jung is supervised by Richard Achiro (PSY#29444).

Jennie (AMFT #94028918) earned her M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from USC. As a Korean immigrant, Jennie’s journey as a psychotherapist began with her own experience of navigating mental health and bicultural identity as a woman, partner, and mother. This lived experience has deepened her understanding of how culture shapes the way each person experiences suffering and healing. It has also cultivated her capacity to tolerate ambiguity and remain present in the therapeutic space of deep exploration.

Jennie’s clinical experience ranges from public schools to community mental health centers, to private practice, working with adults, couples, and families experiencing long-standing challenges such as, depression, anxiety, relational trauma, confusion of identity, and family-of-origin wounds. Jennie draws from psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, and trauma-informed orientations, exploring early and current relationships and its impact on sense of self and wellbeing. More importantly, her non-assuming curiosity and culturally attuned lens guide her work, creating space for deep exploration of each person’s unique inner world. Rooted in her belief that our emotional and relational wounds emerge within relationships and that healing can also take place through relationships, Jennie’s work centers on bringing authenticityinto the therapeutic relationship —being genuinely present with clients and allowing the relationship itself to become a space where trust, reciprocity, and mutuality can be experienced and built together.

Jennie offers therapy in both Korean and English. She is also trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which she thoughtfully integrates into her work with couples to help partners understand the deeper emotions and attachment needs beneath recurring patterns of conflict or disconnection.
